Monster Truck Party :: Reveal!

Hello all!!

I know I haven't posted in awhile, but hopefully tonight's photo overload makes up for that :)

Jason had his little "staycation" this past week, so we were able to get started on a few projects this week, so hopefully soon pictures of that will be up as well! Aside from that, we are slowly trying to settle into the new "normal" that is NO SCHOOL.
 Blah :)

So, FINALLY, here is the Monster Truck Party we have been obsessing over for the past month:

This picture is what the kids first saw when they entered the "party room". This was one of my favorite memories of the party; all the kids came in exclaiming, "WOW! MONSTER TRUCK WHEELS!" I honestly do these parties for reasons like that :)

The Birthday Boy seriously bugged me every single day until the party for one of these pouches. When the day finally came, he couldn't wait to hand them out to all his friends!

It's always been a tradition for Jason to make the cakes for the parties, and he did not dissapoint! A little boy's dream cake, right??

The Blowouts everyone voted for!!! And yes, I realized that AFTER I took this photo, that the GraveDigger is still backwards...oooops :)

Every party has one "element" that is my favorite. For this party, hands down, these favor boxes were it. I loved how they turned out! And look at how great the tape turned out! I told you I would find a way to use it :)  Best part? The boxes were all the extra from the Care Bear party cookies, so they were FREE!

From Dreams to Reality!

Remember the plan I came up with a month ago? It's always fun to see how all the "plans" actually pan out:

Not too far off, right??

I hope you had as much fun looking as I did creating this party!

xo,
Rachel

  1. Everything turned out wonderful, which I knew it would, but even I was super impressed! This has to be, hands down, every boys dream party! The tables, the cake, the party favors, all wonderfully created with a little boy in mind! Another wonderful memory for your kids to cherish, and another awesome designed party! Congratulations! You have every reason to be proud of the amazing things you do for your children!

  2. I'm curious as to where you got the signs or did you design them yourself? It's great. My son also wants a monster jam party this year.

    1. Thanks, Kim! I created everything for this party myself. I knew there was no way that my son would settle for a "generic" monster truck party; he would demand the real deal :) Although I haven't gotten around to it yet, I do plan to add this party to my Etsy storefront: www.etsy.com/shop/NestlingDesigns I offer my parties as a digital package which is sent to you via email and allows you to print up as many copies as you like at home or print shop. I do offer to print it up for you, but it does cost more. This package would include:
Personalized food tents (like the ones that say "spare tire lolipops")
      Blowout Covers
      2" Favor Circles
cupcake wrappers and toppers (not pictured above)
      Straw flags
      Personalized Pit Passes
Monster truck parking sign (I am thinking of making this to be full page size to be
used for front doors, or backdrops)
      Banner (also not shown above)

This digital package will be selling for $15; $20 if you add on the invitation which I featured on my blog here: http://nestlingdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/05/monster-truck-party-invitations.html I try to keep the prices low so anyone can enjoy a personalized party :) If this is something you were interested in, you can email me at rachelpippi@gmail.com and I could set up a custom listing for you on Etsy--you could be first person to enjoy this party before it goes public!

Thanks for checking out my blog!

  3. I was wondering where you got the Green bags that the popcorn is in? I found some on Oriental Trading company, but I am not sure they are the right ones.

    Thanks

    1. Hi DeeDee, thanks for checking out my blog!
The bags I used for the popcorn I actually picked up at Party City. (I think they were even under $3). They were originally longer, but I cut them down to fit our snack. They had just about every color there is too :)

    3. Thank you, also where did you get the checkered paper?

    4. I am about 99% sure those are the bags; the dimensions seem right on and in the photo they look to be a bit transparent...and the price is right :)

Most of the checkered in the party is fabric from Joann's (at least the larger print on the dessert table and the flags). The checkered napkins were, I believe, either Ebay or Amazon. The tablecloth is from Oriental trading. The only other checkered I see is the one used on the front of the clothespins and goody boxes.... this particular design I just created on my computer and printed.

Hope this was helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions :)

  6. Although I haven't gotten around to it yet, I do plan to add this party to my Etsy storefront. Until then, if you were interested in it, I could set up a custom listing for you that you would be able to purchase through Etsy using paypal. It would include everything written below in pdf format. It's EXACTLY what I will be selling when I do place it on Etsy, just without the fancy pictures and description :)

I offer my parties as a digital package which is sent to you via email and allows you to print up as many copies as you like at home or print shop. This package would include:
Personalized food tents (like the ones that say "spare tire lolipops")

  7. Great party! Where did you find the real tires with the lime green rims?

    1. Thank you! I had a ton of fun with this party ;) I actually found the tires at our local flea market (I have no idea what they even belong to, I just thought they were the perfect size). Before I found these, my plan had been to look through Craigs List (mostly the FREE portion) and local garage sales. We painted the rims ourselves, so you could do this and totally customize the color you want.

    1. Thank YOU for checking out my little blog here :)
The little mini tires were actually taken from a Car's game that my kid's had (it's a stacking game...maybe called Luigi's Tires???)

Clear party boxes were found at Joann's (the craft store) in the wedding section-don't forget your coupon! Candy inside the boxes were from Party City; trucks were from the dollar store. The fire tape around the box can be found at Five Below, Joanns, and (I believe) Target.

I created the lanyards myself-I just printed, laminated and strung ribbon through them. (this was cheaper than buying 20 actual plastic covers). I wouldn't be a good business women if I didn't mention that this whole party package (printable) is going to be added to my Etsy store sometime this week and includes the paper part of the lanyards :) I have seen generic racecar ones at party stores, and there are ones similar to the ones I made available on Ebay.

      Thanks again for looking!

  9. Oh wow! I am so amazed! Really excited to stumble upon your blog while researching ideas for my son's party! I am so inspired to a monster truck party for him as he is obsessed! Just him sitting next to me while looking at your page, he too is excited about the pictures of the trucks. May I ask where you got your mini tires from? Also, upon reading some of the comments, I see you have an etsy store and are able to put together a package? If so, that would be incredibly awesome!! Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

    1. Aimee, thanks for all the lovely words! My son (and boyfriend LOL) are obsessed with anything Monster Trucks, so this was a really special and fun party for me to do. I love that your son liked the photos- I honestly do all this work for moments like that.

The little mini tires were a great find at Goodwill-they belong to a Car's game. It's a tire stacking game (luigi's tire tower game).

I do have an Etsy store, and I hope to add the Monster Truck party (a printable party package) on there this weekend or early next week. I have been a little slow on doing this because it takes awhile to edit the photos and write all the descriptions, but if you were interested and needed it asap, I could make you a custom listing that would be good for everything mentioned below. It's exactly everything I will be placing on Etsy, just without the fancy photos :). Orders usually take 1-2 days to receive your customized proof. I actually did this for another client just this week.

      It includes:
Personalized food tents (like the ones that say "spare tire lolipops")
      Blowout Covers
      2" Favor Circles
cupcake wrappers and toppers (not pictured above)
      Bubbles Bottle Wrapper
Straw flags (these will look different than the ones I did at our party, because I was never happy with how those turned out)
      Personalized Pit Passes
      Monster truck parking sign
      Banner (also not shown above)
      (2) checkered papers to use however you like.

I will also be selling seperately (or maybe as a package deal-I haven't decided) the invitations I featured on my blog here: http://nestlingdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/05/monster-truck-party-invitations.html

Let me know if you have any other questions :)
Thanks for checking out my blog!

    1. I don't know for sure since I don't have any left over, but I am pretty sure they were 4". I got them from the wedding section in Joanns {I believe they were the only size}.
Thanks for checking out my blog!

  12. Can you please tell me where you purchased the flame print paper that is located on your cake table, the trucks are on and that is wrapped around the box the pretzel rods are on.
    Thank you for your time!!

    1. The flame paper is actually duct tape! I found mine at a store 5 Below, but I have also seen it at crafts stores, like Michaels and Joanns, and Target. Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I found the tires at a flea market, but I always recommend checking out Craigslist also; a lot of times you can find some for free! The small tires (with the food signs) are from a Car's game.

    Good luck!
